Winter in New England is always a reminder that it IS Winter! There’s nothing better in the winter than comfort foods to make you feel warm and cozy.
Being so cold out lately and more snow on the way (I know, hard to believe), I decided to not run for the infamous “milk and bread” this time…I’m gonna MAKE it! I’m thinking English muffins and more. In England, they don’t call them “English Muffins” they just call them muffins because they are from England! Lol. We on the other hand DO that little idiosyncrasy with things like American chop suey. Funny how that is.
Well I cant really make the milk unless I get a cow ( which were my Moms instructions when I first started dating my husband because she got to SEE just how much he could eat. He’s the winner of a Canadian college eating contest of 22 pork chop DINNERS!). I am challenged feeding him to say the least but it’s what makes us a super couple! I love to cook and he loves to eat but ONLY my food and if we go out to dinner, from only ONE restaurant and hotel(The Radisson Hotel- Post Rd. Warwick, RI) run by J&W University of Culinary Arts of course in their restaurant “Libations!” which is the BEST food in the state! We went last week one day for lunch and I had the new Porchetta Sandwich and it was to die for!
Getting back to bread, I did English muffins, and now I’m off to do pizza dough, and pita bread to get us through another weekend and week. There’s also nothing better than the smell of bread baking…total bliss!
Stay warm where you are and until Friday my friends, have a great week and Drink It In!!
Luv, Your VPC~
