As much as I LOVE New England and never thought I’d say this but, I’m SICK of the weather. 😦 I look outside at my forsythia bush and it says Spring all over it but I have my heat and a sweater on. I think I may be getting a little too old for these kind’s of temperatures (although I’m never doing the ‘I’m old, it’s time to move to Florida for the Winters’ New England mentality thing because bugs and I do NOT get along, or reptiles). Lol
Subconsciously thinking of “bugs” for just a moment….my husband had the nerve to tell me (knowing all my phobias, because he actually thinks it’s ‘funny’ to have me running and screaming) that we are heading for an invasion of the cicada bugs in the north east region within the next MONTH! Apparently, I’m leaving the east coast ENTIRELY!!! And some of you out there are frying them things up and EATING them……………ummmmm, I’m done. I can’t go there. Moving on….
Last week I returned to my Indian food fetish and attempted to make my own Paneer and it came out absolutely wonderful and I will never buy it now. It was so delicious and I am inspired to put it with all kinds of new flavors, so looking forward to it.
But since today is so damp and cold and we all have colds as well, it’s a soup kind of day. Not sure what kind my kitchen is going to inspire me to make today but I sure will share in a future post. I spoke with my 83 year old Mom last night and she already had her plans for making two big pots of Cape Verdean stews today due to the weather, Canja and Munchupa. Maybe I’ll just go visit her instead? If so, I’ll be sure to bring along some of my rosemary biscuits to sop up the soup, and of course a nice glass of red wine.
Can’t wait to actually be able to PLANT that rosemary bush I’ve been dreaming about putting in my yard this year…as soon as Spring arrives.
Have a Tasty Weekend!
