Good Monday Morning Everyone!
I hope you all had a great weekend. I am sure those that celebrate, are gearing up for the big turkey day. We all celebrate different things or none at all. I don’t celebrate holidays, but I do celebrate “Seasons,” and I love this time of year as well. I hosted a “Davis Family Celebration” on December 24th every year as a sort of family reunion with my husband’s family as his parents got married in a blizzard that date in 1945! If it weren’t for his parents marrying that day, my husband and his siblings would not be here, and I would not have him as my husband. So, I relished that day, and we had some great times during those gatherings.
Now that we are getting back on our feet, I would love to return to those celebrations soon. The ONE thing we ALL have in common is FOOD! We all celebrate good times and there’s always food involved. So, I hope everyone has a great week, a day off of work if possible and I hope you all get a little time to relax! And those of you that venture out for Black Friday….I don’t know HOW you do it! I worked the last few Black Friday’s, and it was a nut house! I sure do not miss that. I will happily be home safe, enjoying some good food and wine and down time, you do the same. Let food inspire you……

celebrations
Thinking about getting back to what we called “The Davis Family Celebration” on December 24, I started thinking about things I used to use to make things easier for me to cook and present to my family. I was sometimes coming home from work at a bakery early morning to noon and jumping right into getting everything ready for the family when they got to our house that same day around 4- 5pm, so I had some great things to help. Time goes on and things get better in design so although I miss the things I had- newer things are more efficient and I am looking forward to getting my hands on these items for possible next year’s Family Celebration.

Chafing dishes
I had a beautiful set of 4 square style chafing dishes that I had for years but I really love this style. They are so sleek looking, great size.

3 Teir Serving Tray
I had so many serving trays that I miss, I am obsessed with them. I especially love antique glass platters and bowls as well.

Buffet Risers
I love having risers for my buffet serving table. They make everything more accessible, and it looks so much better instead of a flat surface area.

Cold station
Don’t forget to keep the cold things cold! Keep from constantly going in and out the refrigerator. Ice container on the bottom is so convenient.

PUMPKIN BREAD:
I experimented with one of my old Pumpkin Bread recipes and came up with this new one! It’s sooo good! You can use pretty much any pumpkin bread recipe, just add my Nut Mix to the batter before baking.
Nut Mix: I add pumpkin and sunflower seeds, chopped walnuts, craisins and extra warm spices. Then I add pumpkin seeds on the top before going in the oven. It’s so pretty too.
