Coffee Cup Monday: Happy Wedding Anniversary to Us!

Mr. & Mrs.

We got married on April 28, 2001

It was the best day of both of our lives. we were meant to be together from the first time we met briefly in our late teens. We had the best people IN and AT our Wedding that day. As if it couldn’t get any better, it RAINED! You all know, I am a Pluviophile and absolutely love the rain. April showers bought MY flowers that day. No soon as the shower was over, it was like a summer day in New England!

Montego Bay on the Hill

We got married and had our reception all at the Montego Bay Restaurant on federal hill in Providence, RI that is no longer there. It was a small boutique type restaurant whose owner was from Montego Bay, and I loved the food, so we decided to get married there. When it rained, we had an outdoor canopy and bar setup as well, so it was like a family reunion when the sun came out.

Food

Our food was made by Chef Gordon Woodbury and it was to die for! We had Caribbean wings and rice and so many other items I don’t have space to list! It was a cocktail and hors d’oeuvres reception, but he went above and beyond that. Our Niece Candace harper made our wedding cake of vanilla with butter cream frosting that was delicious and just what we wanted with fresh flowers cascading down the front of it.

Honeymoon

We had an impromptu celebration the night before the wedding in the salon I rented that looked like a club itself, and we partied so much I don’t know HOW anyone made it to the wedding never mind trying to get to a honeymoon. The best thing that came out of our stay-cation honeymoon was our honeymoon baby that I found myself having a month later. LOL. Our dream one day is St. Lucia, it was on our list then.

Celebrate love always

We are so happy to reach the milestone of 24 years married! I wish we married earlier so I could have loved him longer. There is just not enough time for the love we have for each other. I hope you have or find your love as well, happily ever after. He saved me like Cinderella, the shoe fits, and I wear it proudly!
