Let The Games Begin!
Hey everyone!! We have reached THE END of PHASE III in our Road Trip Series! What a way to end it! Thank you for taking the trip this phase. The next Phase IV is our final phase of this series. I will be bringing about different projects.
Today let’s have a tailgate party with our favorite teams on the tube! A lot of people love to tailgate at the game supporting their favorite team (the New England Patriots in N.E. of course, I’m a KC Chiefs fan) in the parking lot cooking up all kinds of stuff. Me, I like to do it at home in front of my 70-inch TV and not have to worry about getting up out of stadium seats to go to the bathroom and all. I could never! I used to do it when I was young and my older brother played football
, but I could never do it now. Let’s get it started…
Food
This is the time I would say you have to break out the summer grill and light it up! If you crave that grilled flavor just do it, or use a grill pan indoors. Smoking meat at home in the oven with one of those smoke pans is a great option as well. I don’t know about you, but the 3 main things I need for my ‘Football Sundays” besides wine of course, are in these 3 photos of my food. You can find all of these food posts on my Blog.

Football Favorites

My Stromboli
I fill my stromboli with Italian luncheon meats and pepperoni with mozzarella and provolone, onions, pepperoncini, a garlic sauce, egg wash the outside and sprinkle with sesame seeds then bake until golden. I sometimes just make them with ricotta, spinach and pepperoni.

My Sticky Wings
I do them low and slow in an oven or you could use a crockpot with brown sugar and 5 spice, soy and hoisin sauce and other seasonings. They are fall apart good. I love to smother them in sliced scallions (sometimes sesame seeds) and serve with extra sauce on the side for dipping.

My Pizza
I always make my own dough the day before and let it rest until room temp the day I make my pizzas. I also make my pizza sauce the day before as I simmer it for a long time. We love all toppings but may favorite is a garlic sauce with caramelized onions, 3 cheeses and sundried tomatoes.

My Fried Olives
I use jumbo garlic stuffed olives you can get from a good deli. I drain and dry them as best as possible them roll them in plain flour to coat. When I am ready to fry, I dredge them in a batter made of flour, baking powder, salt, water and sesame oil with consistency of pancake batter.

This Ends Phase III
Thank you for taking this trip with me, it was a lot of fun! Next week will start our final Phase of this series, Phase IV and then we will move on to a different segment. Have a great and safe weekend!
